Belt, Pistol, M-1936, OD

Pistol belts were usually issued to those who were given a side arm, such as Non-Commissioned and Commissioned Officers, soldiers standing watch, vehicle drives, and medics. A soldier authorized and issued an M-1 Carbine would also get a pistol belt instead of the M-1923 Cartridge belt because the clips for the weapon won't fit in to the latter.

As the encouraged item for you to acquire is an M-1 Garand, you're not going to have much use for a pistol belt. However, some new members may already have an M-1 Carbine available to them. Also, those wishing to portray a medic or even those just wishing to buy EVERYTHING, please ensure that you do not buy the Vietnam era nylon belt. Look for an OD #3 or OD #7 belt. The fittings should be brass with a non-reflective paint (or at least once was). There should be "US" stamped on the front of the belt, usually to the front.
