Good luck trying to find original undershirts. If they're used, would you even really want to wear them? Since undershirts are a scarce item to find as originals, we've thrown in some leniency in what you can wear underneath your uniform.
Back in the early stages of the war, the soldiers were issued white t-shirts to be worn under the wools. However, the Army quickly replaced these with an olive drab colored shirt. Modern khaki brown works fine for this as the correct olive drab color is difficult to find. Another color is the modern olive green shirts that can also be found as tank top. It is more preferred to have crew neck t-shirts of a lighter khaki or live drab than the draker olive green, so look for a pack of those. You can find something decent at any military surplus store. If in doubt, you cannot go wrong with a white crew neck shirt as this was what was initially issued at the beggining of US involvement in the war.
