Colleville-sur-Mer

We had gotten camp set up by around 15:00 (that's 3pm for you civilian-types). Which left some time for some us to go run a day trip to the American Cemetary. This is the same one they start and end Saving Private Ryan with (to relate it to cinema). The soldiers buried here didn't all necessarily die on Omaha Beach. Many were brought from other sites. The aim was to create an awe inspiring panorama that stuns visitors and gives the impression of solidarity and uniformity of American soldiers. The effect works, and this was my second visit.
