This was the month it all began... online that is. The Associated Blast was formed this month and was an instant success. Though still new, the fan base increased 172% from the day it launched (May 20th) to the end of the month. By the end of 2001, it had increased by 420%, which made pot smokers around the world rejoice. The reports listed as prior to May 17th were either released by e-mail bulletin system in the Associated Blast's infancy or created during the actual construction of the original website.
ASS'ED FILMS NEW VENTURE AN EYE OPENER FOR H'W'D'
Associated Films Prexy James Soeffner announced a bold new plan to increase awareness of his new filcker shop. With two features in the pre-prod phases and a teaser trailer in place for the HORCHATA COMMANDOES ('00) follow up, exposure will be critical.
"We put a lot of good material on film, now it's just a matter of getting faces in front of it," Soeffner said at a recent press conference held near Poet's Corner. "We're proud of what we've done in such a short amount of time."
After starting his career making Public Service Announcements for the Placentia Unified School District, he ankled the teachers shop for a more lucrative endeavor. He moved his small production unit to Los Angeles and set up shop at Rochester Productions. After the bottom fell out of Rochester, he re-teamed with boffo hunk Anthony Ardisone and CSUF Award Winning Prod. Designer/DP S. Dylan Kirkland. Soon, work was begun on the groundbreaking HORCHATA'S COMMANDOES.
Repped by Iacobucci Talent, they were quickly thrust into the foray of major film making.
"Associated's vision is, without question, unique," agent Kelly Merrell commented. "I can't think of another film based around ex-convicts who are getting harrassed by the police for crimes that they are not committing even though the police are bumbling tards and someone's name is 'Taco' and the other is 'Brown' and their leader is named after a Mexican Drink. It's true genius."
Ben Johnson, a producer at Associated, has been rumored to be developing a story revolving around an Earthlike home flying through outer space. This is a collaboration with fellow producer, Ralph Apel.
"This is a true group venture," Johnson said of working with Apel. Apel, however, chimed in with his usual wit, "Fuck that Guy."
To increase positive buzz, Soeffner and the rest of the Ass'ed Films crew are preparing a re-release screening of HORCHATA followed by the presentation of the much hyped HC2 teaser. Sodas and cake will also be served. No further information regarding this screening was available at print time.
"It's gonna be great. It'll be good for Associated and it's good for the film industry. We're also working on a website. We want to be the first to exploit the internet's untapped resource," said Soeffner.
Soeffner, Kirkland, and Ardisone are managed by Jared Pfeifer @ FutureBoy, Inc. Johnson, Apel and fellow producers Asif Husain (BOHLE PIRATES OF FRANCE) and Matt "The Rat" Clark are currently seeking representation.
Recently leaked to the trades by Kirkland, it is now widly known that Associated is attempting to secure a long term overall deal with actror/producer Tulsi Anderson (CENTURY CITY TOWERS).
"Hopefully we can come to an agreement soon. Tuls would undoubtably be an asset to anything that we do," Kirkland said. Anderson did not return our calls. It is suspected that he can't hear the phone at this time.

Excitement is in the air here at the official Website of the Associated Blast, dedicated to world reknowned production company Associated Films: makers of fine cinema and social gatherings. In a rare e-mail interception/bleed over, it has come to our attention that director extraordinaire James Soeffner is planning a guaranteed re-release party of Horchata's Commandoes as well as a sneak-peek trailer of the long awaited sequel, Horchata's Commandoes 2000. In the e-mail transfer, sent from Soeffner to members of the Associated crew and staff, we learned that the score addition to HC1 is nearly complete.
The movie will be released with full score as well as to be followed up by, not the original planned teaser trailer, but a FULL LENGTH TRAILER for HC2! We can not wait for more details! We have also learned that Associated Films is planning to setup their own official website. Well, until then, Ass'ed Films, you can count us to bring you quality articles and informational resources about the fine art you craft!

Day one of the Blast website has been a great success. We have made changes to name misspellings to some of the Bios Pages, complete with revamping of the graphics. We are sorry for any inconvenience this might have given you. Look forward for more additions in the future!
