Still trucking, the Associated Blast is the number one independent film company fansite browsed on Yahoo! The e-mail boxes have been flooded with fan mail wishing to get in touch with the Editor and the cast and crew of AssFilms. Make sure you are logged in and checking the Blast Zone frequently (located in the Extras section) as you may get a rare chance to be online with a celebrity from the company! Associated Blast, keeps on trucking!
The Associated Blast is teeming with busy bodies getting ready for this weekend's most anticipated movie venue this year. With other big box office movies like "On Guard!" and "By Hook Or By Crook," the 2nd Annual Associated Films Presentation is up for some stiff competition. And by stiff we do mean dead as a door nail!
Several fans that are lining up at the theater Saturday morning couldn't agree more. They want to make sure that they get the best seats in the house as there is expected to be roughly 100 in attendance. With popcorn and candy, the show is expected to be an all around treat!
"We did our test on Sunday (September 29th) and everything is going to work out fine." Ben Johnson says. "The only major problem we have to consider is our max capacity, when the Fire Marshall has to step in." But actor Anthony! Ardisone doesn't seem to think that will be a problem.
"I know how to talk to those fire guys." And understandably so! Ardisone had spent time in a Fire Academy. "The Fire Marshall is the least of our worries. My worry is if the people will be able to leave once the show is over. I positive this one is going to knock them on their asses and they won't want to leave until there is an encore."
From a man who speaks from total experience, we can't argue with that!

With grand and expected success, the 2nd Annual Associated Films Presentation fought on times two. Though the audience knew they were in for a treat, no one expected the amount of surprises in store. From the pre-show screen slides to the nostalgic ending, cheers and tears were heard from all. A unique touch to the show was the intimate exposure of what Associated Films really is. Those not familiar with the grass roots of the company and the members that comprise it were given an inside look as to how they work and what they work. By the shows end, everyone who attended the premiere felt more like a friend or a family member rather than a stranger with a VIP reservation.
Of course, not all the surprises were exclusive to the non-company affiliated audience members. About 75% of the show was unknown to Associated Films Cast and Crew, with only James Soeffner aware of everything. The biggest surprise came at the very end when the unheard of Pursuit 3 - Wang Chung Express was unveiled in its entirety. The only ones who knew of the project were the four involved directly with it: James Soeffner (director/editor/story), Michael Magdalena (actor), Anthony! Ardisone (actor/story), and Asif Husain (producer/actor). The movie was shot roughly two months prior to the show, with preproduction extending past that. The crew had to keep a tight lip about the project the entire time. But the pay off for their sworn secrecy was well worth it as P3 appeared to be the popular choice among the audience.
&nsbp; "I knew when we had first come up with the idea that everyone was going to like it," says Ardisone. "When the location was switched from Los Angeles to San Francisco, I knew we had created something that hasn't been topped yet by anything in our company."
With the advent of Pursuit 3, we can expect to see a shift to production on location and less filming in the Associated Films lot. In fact, the whole dynamic of Associated Films and the way it operates is planned to change. Rather than catering to a locally based clientele, emphasis to markets abroad will be the target.
"Really, there's no other direction other than up for Associated Films," states James Soeffner. "We're looking to other venues to represent our work to help buld a bigger fan base and to expand the name of Associated Films. To do that, we have to change the way we work."
"It's amazing we've made it this far. It would be a shame if we didn't expand and kept it to the small local crowd," Ardisone states. "Without growth, we will not be able to create new and interesting formats for the crowd we have now. And then where would we be?"
