Sadly, the closure of Tumbleweed Company has reduced the capabilities of Associated Films and has added more challenges to the ones already faced by the budding independent film group. This inactivity was also reflected upon the Associated Blast. However, what appears to be a silent month of inactivity proves to be a period of storing energy for the beginning of June.

Associated Films has taken a turn for the worst as it's vital equipment source is scheduled to dissolve this summer. The word came from Director James Soeffner who stated earlier this month that the contracted Tumbleweed Company would be no longer operating as a rental business this July. Though film production within Associated Films has virtually come to a standstill, this is bad news for the company.
"We have access to some decent equipment," Soeffner states. "But the quality of the editing will not be as exciting or dynamic as the projects in the past have been."
With Space House wrapping up its pre-production and several other projects getting ready to spread its gossamer wings (Knight Brothers, Valley, and HC2), this change in filming equipment and post production editing equipment sources may drastically affect these films... perhaps halt production indefinitely.
"I will be goddamned if we have movies postponed for this crap," Actor Anthony! Ardisone addresses a crowd of friends and fans at a local drinking tavern. "Associated Films started with a Handi-cam. A HANDI-CAM! And those movies soared to the top. Yes, it's not going to be as nice as we wanted them to be, but we can adapt and make them as good as anything else on the market, if not better!" Strong words coming from a strong man.
In any case, because of the halt in filmmaking and the changes in production equipment sourcing, the Blast has been affected consequently. Many questions have been raised regarding Blast content and web techniques and we would like to address them now:

I think you need to remove links to Pesky Humans and Tumbleweed in their place, I suggest putting www.dvolume.com & www.jackmaher.com.
Consider it done, although we must note that neither site at this time plugs the Blast.

The BBS seems to not be working properly at this time.
The BBS never was really used to begin with. It didn't take with the fans, despite frequent input from Associated Celebs. The server for the Blast Zone is located in England, which causes a delay for us US browsers. Thoughts of finding a server that can handle it here in the US are being looked at, but it's lack of popularity hasn't brought much focus to it.

The Pictures of everyone has still not been finished on the Bios page.
We've had problems with the celebrities taking pictures they actually approved of. As you know, it's hard working with talent. Also, since many of them have their own side gigs, it has been difficult to arrange a photo shoot with them. Thank you for noticing, though, and hopefully we'll rope those panzies in to the studio and finish up their mug shots!

A new article for May/June needs to be created.
Newt Gunray once stated, "No need to report anything until we have something to report." We decided to make an article about having nothing to report. We're scrambling to come up with something for June. Expect more interviews in the future.

Have a photo of the week, not month. Too much time for just one pic.
We were thinking about making it weekly. There was concern that we wouldn't find enough good pictures to keep it updated. We will take this under consideration because we have come across several good pics of the Film Group while in hiatus.

Maybe a gallery page could be created for all films and events going on with ass films and friends
We are afraid to make the page too personalized because we don't like having the fans knowing everything we do and inadvertently stalking us.

Any mpegs or quicktime files ready to put on the web site?
Transferring some of the footage, trailers, and movies to a format viewable on the internet has been a boggle for us this past month. We are currently seeking the best format to utilize so that everyone can view them in the best quality available.

Is the Master Editor single?
Why yes he is. Feel free to drop him a line or two.

All very good questions and we hope we were able to shed a little light as to what has been going on these past months. We appreciate your concern and your continued patronage during these difficult times. -Editor       May 29th, 2003
