Date change to the 3rd Annual Associated Films Show and Valentine's Day.
Another Delay In 3rd Show Kick Off
Last weekend, Associated Films announced there would be yet another delay in the upcoming 3rd Show, moving the proposed March 13th viewing weeks later to Saturday, April 3rd. This move is to allow ample time for the post-production of the S Dylan Kirkland directed piece, Questions For Answers, starring Seth Alcorn. The film is the main bulk of the show and has been running in to many difficulties since its conception.
However, we are assured that the new April deadline is the most serious and realistic deadline announced, sources say. It allows for the Kirkland project to be completed and for other shorts formerly not expected to be a part of the show to be finished.
The new change also gives a more convincing argument that Associated Films is dedicated to quality as opposed to churning out product just to make deadlines.
Though some are skeptical that there will even be a 3rd Show, Associated Films' optimism and strong fan base still out-weigh the negativity. One thing's for certain, when the show does happen, viewers will be in for the treat of their lives... just as they were pleased in 2001.

New Projects?
Being the onsite imbedded reporter, I recently went along with an Associated Films location scouting crew last weekend, February 6th. Any details told were minor until they we on location. And the news was quite astonishing.
The crew comprised of famed director, James Soeffner, stunt-expert, Matt "the Ratt" Clark, and Horchie Award winner, Anthony! Ardisone. Setting out early that Friday morning, they drove out to the East, heading in to the local mountain range. They were in search of snow. And they got it.
Local Big Bear and Arrowhead Lakes had received a dump of snow the week prior. The blanket of snow stuck throughout the weekday, creating a white winter wonderland, or the illusion of a bitter-cold planet barren of greenery and who's harshness breeds only the harshest creatures.
It took some time for the crew to find the right spot. Driving aimlessly but with purpose, the trio found what they were looking for in a nearby park, with few trees (which were free of any leaf) and exhibited low signs of people traffic. Immediately, they began setting up their ideas and their shots, for which we are not permitted to speak of. Shot after shot, the crew was having fun, but hard at work. They studied, analyzed, discussed, and shared ideas with little or no bickering or complaint: the sign of a well-oiled film machine.
While the crew worked, our reporter studied them. And he admired them. He smiled with them, and cared for them, as they for he. They were able to do this through discipline and love for their craft, as well as being like-minded in their art. It was a fine moment to watch them work their work.
After awhile, I asked what this was all for, they replied, "this is for the 4th Show." I paused. The 4th Show? The 3rd has yet to be completed! Marvelous, this Associated Films to already seek out paths to future endeavors when the one obstacle they have set before them is not yet overcome.
"We are doing all we can with that project, and our minds hunger for more," stated Clark. "Why sit idle whilst our art leak from us, bleed like ink from a still pen?" He became pensive, stared awhile in to the bright snow, looked up and said, "this truly is a game. And one in which we would like to succeed!"
Our day was spent doing test footage for a featurette for the 4th Show. Logistics were calculated for the necessary equipment, personnel, talent, and shoot times. When that major objective was completed, we drove home. However, the team paused and pulled to the side of the road. They broke out gear and cameras and began doing reconnaissance for another movie! They hashed out ideas and took pictures, with no thought to the present tasks and focus solely for a greater Show later this year.
We closed the day with the sun still high in the air. Returning to the studios, each member went to their offices with the ideas in their heads and began to work on what they needed to. And I returned to my desk, reflecting on the day's work and what I had observed. Though what was filmed can not be publicized, one thing's for certain: it is in Associated Films' main mission to make each show better than the last. It is their foremost thought to prepare and think of the future, even when the present is not complete!

Hot Rumour True Believers!
HOLLYWOOD, CA - Productions is said to be underway on
the summer tentpole blockbuster "Valley of the Dragon"
will begin principle shooting in the Outback of Australia
and in some of the Middle Earth locations from New
Line's popular Lord of the Rings series.
Vice President of Associated Films and Dragon helmer
James Soeffner was quoted as saying, "We have had very
good W.O.M. (word of mouth) on Dragon down under. I
think its only natural to shoot prinicipal down
there."
VP of Intl, Matt Clark was stunned that an
international project has slipped by his normally keen
global radar: "I think I will have a talk with my
colleague, Ben [Johnson]."
Johnson, the AssFilms VP of a department that is not
International was, as always totally available for
comment: "Boomshadow forever!"
Well, this writer for one always loves a contraversy!
And why not an adventure film while we are at it
Associated Films!
