La Lande des Morts

Pulling up to a memorial site named La Lande Des Morts, or Land Of The Dead. Actually, the area was named such during a battle that was fought during the One Hundred Years War. However, due to action 2nd Armored was involved in, the title just as easily fits. in '44, the division found themselves in the pathway of thousands of retreating Germans trying to avoid being cut-off by the surrounding Allies. During that night, a bloody engagement ensued between desperate Germans and the stalwart 2nd Armored Division.
