Took the halftracks and a few M8s to the memorial just outside of town.

On August 8th, 1944, an 82nd Recon M8 car was hit by a German anti-tank gun. The car was hit again and a fire ensued. Howard Swonger was one of two people to make it out of the wreck alive. Three others died inside. The memorial is dedicated to them and all 82nd Recon members. Some of the pieces of the M8 recovered are encased in the monument.
